A place and sisterhood where you can be your authentic self.
Our philanthropic mission is to provide experiences and resources that build spiritual, mental, and social resiliency in girls. We do this through our philanthropic focus, Building Strong Girls. We host one philanthropy event per semester to support this mission: Moonball and Have a Heart.
BUILDING STRONG GIRLS
Moonball is Gamma Phi Beta's signature philanthropy event which supports our international philanthropic goal of Building Strong Girls. In Fall 2016, we hosted our very first Moonball basketball tournament on the row. We coached and cheered on our fraternity teams and had a blast getting outside and active for a great cause, and we have been doing it every Fall since. Proceeds went to Girls on the Run, one of our favorite organizations. Gamma Phi Beta is the proud exclusive Panhellenic Conference National Sponsor of "Girls on the Run International", a non-profit organization that inspires girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running.
HAVE A HEART
To make a difference even closer to home, Gamma Phi hosts our Have a Heart dinner in the spring. This event is especially meaningful to us because we vote to give the proceeds to causes that directly impact our sisters. This event benefitted two causes that are very dear to our particular chapter: USC Troy Camp and Girls on the Run International. Have a Heart is special to us as well as it is open to anyone who wants to come in and participate. We are always thrilled when we are able to make a difference within our community.
Over the past semester, our chapter wanted to continue to donate to philanthropic causes through our community even in an online setting. Because of one of our own members, Brett Landon, we were able to partner with She's Birdie. She's Birdie is a company made for women by women. Their product is a personal safety alarm that can help women not only feel safe but empowered. Through our partnership, we were able to raise over $1,300 for Girls On the Run!
